推定法の選択:GTM vs SOM
GTM(Generative Topographic Mapping)
デフォルトの推定法です。項目とランクとの関係を表す行列\(\Pi_R\)(サイズ \(J \times R\))に,緩やかな順序制約をつけたフィルタ行列\(S\)(サイズ \(R \times R\))を乗算しながらEMアルゴリズムで推定します。データサイズが大きくなっても安定的に推定が進みます。
SOM(Self-Organizing Map)
自己組織化マップの方法も選択可能です。最初にランダムに生成した行列\(\Pi_R\)に対し,データ行列に近い勝者ベクトルが周囲の重みをアップデートしていきます。乱数による近似なので,再現性のためにはシード値の設定が必要です。
